At the opening of the congress organized in collaboration with Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University and the Association of Social Work Schools, undergraduate and graduate students from many cities, primarily Manisa, Ankara, Istanbul, Bitlis, Rize, Eskişehir, Sakarya, Izmir, Karabük, Isparta, and Antalya, participated. In the opening session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Yanardağ, President of the Association of Social Work Schools Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tahir Emre Gencer, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. İsmail Çelik, and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen delivered their speeches. As part of the program, students from the Turkish Folk Music Conservatory presented a music recital and folk dance performance.
This year, at the opening conference of the congress organized with the theme “Building Permanent Welfare Together: Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity,” Prof. Dr. Tarık Tuncay from Hacettepe University presented “How Do We Address Intergenerational Solidarity from a Social Work Perspective?”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huriye İrem Kalaycı Kırlıoğlu from Karabük University presented “Connecting Generations: A Stronger Society Together,” and Prof. Melinda Madew from Protestant University of Applied Sciences Ludwigsburg presented “Building Solidarity with Global South.”

On the second day of the congress, November 22, a total of 69 papers will be presented, 34 face-to-face and 35 online. The congress is expected to provide an important experience and scientific development opportunity for students stepping into academic life in the field of social work.
